Description

Chalet Coeur is a beautiful 17th Century farmhouse that has been renovated to a high modern standard. It is situated in the gorgeous hamlet of La Rosiere, just a few minutes drive above Samoens village, pleasantly tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the town below.

From the outside, Chalet Coeur may look like any other traditional Alpine farmhouse, but this modern home is a stunning renovation and never ceases to impress our guests with its incredible location above Samoens. The chalet provides accommodation for 10 guests in 4 bedrooms, with 4 bathrooms. Chalet Coeur is also a comfortable option for couples wanting to get away because you can be tucked away upstairs in the living area and master suite. But it is also fun to fill the house with a group of friends or one big family as there is plenty of space.

Home Truths

• A car is essential to get around. The chalet is located above the main village. It takes around 10 - 15 minutes to reach the ski lift and snow chains may be required during periods of heavy snow. There is no ski bus.

• Please be aware that you may not always be able to park directly in front of the chalet – in the event of very heavy snow.

• Snow boots essential in the event of heavy weather. It is not always possible for our teams to entirely clear snow.

• There is no television – instead there is a projector with DVD player and HDMI cable – you may watch ‘television’ by plugging in your computer via HDMI cable provided and connecting to the Wifi.

• Though usually rare - depending on your mobile carrier - it is not always possible to have telephone reception at the chalet but you may use the wi-fi to use WhatsApp / FaceTime / Zoom calls.

• Though rare - due to the mountain location - it is also possible that the wi-fi internet is at times slower depending on weather and time of year.

Chalet Coeur can comfortably sleep 10 people in beds or up to 12 people with an additional sofa bed and folding beds.

Location

Chalet Coeur is located above Samoens village on the south facing side. The location is perfect for privacy and to enjoy an authentic mountain experience. It takes 10 - 15 minutes by car to reach the high speed ‘GME’ lift connecting you to the Grand Massif ski domain in winter, which boasts some of the best skiing in the world. Suitable for all levels, there is over 275km of piste to explore and plenty of off-piste for more advanced skiers. In the summer, this area is a hub for adventure sports such as hiking, mountain biking, climbing and paragliding.

 

Distances & Transport

Samoens Centre: 6km; Ski Lift: 7km; Geneva Airport: 80km (1hr 15); Paris: 600km (6hrs+); London: 1,000km (12hrs+)

A car is essential at this chalet. However for larger groups, or those with a scattered arrival time, you may additionally opt for a transfer service directly from Geneva Airport, which will take you directly to the chalet. For bookings between November – April, we recommend that you have a 4×4 or at the very least, snow chains in your car. The road is ploughed 2 – 3 times daily but it is always a good idea to arrive prepared for heavy snow conditions. if it snows heavily during the daytime. It is legal requirement in the French Alps to come equipped with snow chains that specifically fit you vehicle

Changeover day for the chalet is generally variable… Please ask if you’d like a specific arrival day as we can sometimes be flexible

Security Deposit amount is €1,000 (or £1,000) – Payable by Bank Transfer before arrival

Rental payments can be paid in 2 instalments – a 30% deposit is required at the time of booking, the 70% balance will be due 60 days before arrival.

Pet Policy: We are dog-friendly and can accept up to 2 small/medium, well behaved & house trained dogs at an extra charge of €100. We ask that all furry guests are kept out of bedrooms and prevented from climbing onto furniture. All dog litter should be removed from exterior spaces (garden, porch, patio and green spaces around the property). Pets must be declared at the time of booking, with details including age, breed, size and temperament.
